Do you know a 20-something who is someone to watch? Crain's 20 in their 20s recognition program seeks young professionals who are making their marks in the region. This awards program recognizes the hard work of local rising stars and further propels their careers. Winners will be featured in a special section of the May 3 issue of Crain's Detroit Business.

The extended deadline to nominate a candidate for the 2021 class of 20 in their 20s is Friday, February 12. After being nominated, candidates will have until Sunday, February 21 at 11:59 p.m. to complete a separate application.

Final decisions about who is selected for the 2021 class will be sent directly to candidates by early-April.

  • We strive to alert candidates by the date listed above, generally 2 weeks prior to the special section. This is a rough timeframe that involves many factors. Please know that once judging is complete, we will reach out to all candidates regardless of if they were chosen or not. This notification will be an email from nominations@crain.com.

  • After being nominated, candidates will have until February 17 to complete a separate candidate form. This still applies if you self-nominated. Candidates will receive an email from nominations@crain.com with instrucitons on how to complete the form. If you did not recieve the instructions, you can go to this link and login to an existing account or create a new one. From here, if you were nominated, you should be able to complete your canidate form.
